The V International Congress of the English Language will be held in Valparaiso (Chile) in 2010

President Michelle Bachelet and directors of the Instituto Cervantes and the English Royal Academy have presented the Chilean capital.
The V International Congress of the English Language (CILE) meeting in March 2010 in Valparaiso (Chile) to about 200 speakers from all the English speaking countries and other parts of the world, which, under the slogan in English-America will analyze the English situation and challenges. The King of Spain and President of Chile will inaugurate this event you will pay tribute to Chilean four major figures: the Nobel Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral, and the poet Nicanor Parra and Gonzalo Rojas.
This was announced at the official presentation of the Congress in Santiago de Chile, Chile's President Michelle Bachelet, the Minister of Culture of the Andean country, Paulina Urrutia, director of Instituto Cervantes, Carmen Caffarel, and the director of the Royal English Academy, Victor Garcia de la Concha. The event was held at the Palacio de la Moneda, the seat of the Presidency of the Republic of that country.
The V International Congress was held in Valparaiso, from 2 to 6 March 2010, and continue the work of held in Zacatecas (Mexico, 1997), Valladolid (Spain, 2001), Rosario (Argentina, 2004) and Cartagena de Indias (Colombia, 2007). In the same vein the V CILE will discuss current events, such as policy convergence groups, news media, the proliferation of media aimed at immigrants and the growing momentum language of publishing and translation.
