" Introduction to Text Linguistics "

Below present a book review of Luis Miranda Esquerre: "Introduction to Text Linguistics" ...

This bibliography is based on the lessons or scope given by Eugenio Coseriu on text linguistics taught at the UNSA (1), which were collected by Jörn Albrecht.

Firstly, reference was made to the different nomenclatures used for text linguistics, such as:

- Discourse Analysis

- Grammar Text

- Science

Text - Textlinguistik

also suggests that has not yet reached consensus on the issue even as it is confused with the pragmatics and semiotics (semiology) is often regarded as an interdisciplinary science.

Asimimismo emphasized two definitions about the "text":

1 .- "full linguistic expression"

2 .- "... unit formed according to rules particular language used, where the intention to / from listeners linguistically considered complete. "

As to the first definition, weaknesses identified is that there is talk of a specific language and, therefore, certain rules, raising the possibility multiligüingue consider it as a text.

Text Linguistics is considered, first, as the science of language, on the other, as part of linguistics proper.

To clarify our understanding of this discipline, Coseriu we introduced three levels of language:

a) .- universal level for the speech or speaking in general. "

b) .- Historical level that becomes the language vedría particular historical (German, Russian, English, etc.).

c) Level of texts .- ie speech acts that perform in a given situation, whether oral or written.

In this sense, the grammar of text is located on the third level.

" Computational Linguistics "

Univerdidad
of California, Davis

On 30 July the "Study Circle Linguistic Villarrealino (CELV) place, as every two weeks, "Monday Linguistic" for which was attended by Dr. Almerindo Ojeda, who studied at the University of California-Davis ... he spoke his theme: Computational Linguistics. " Acontinuación, some notes about it:

"Computational linguistics is an interdisciplinary field that lies between linguistics and computer science, whose aim is to develop computer models that reproduce various aspects of human language." (1)

In presentation, he mentioned some key points such as:

-computational linguistics is a methodological tool, which involves the relationship between sets.

-grammar or structure of a language is a finite set or a way to define a relationship.

"The language is an infinite set, following Chomsky's generative grammar.

"Some of the features it has the grammar of computational linguistics are

1 .- To be explicitly computable

2 .- The accuracy is ie, that captures the language accurately.

3 .- The prince is said that part of basic principles.

4 .- explicit power

5 .- The efficiency

also considered to computational linguistics as a branch of generative linguistics, we can formulate hypotheses, assess the complexity or count the number of rules, is not automatically considered a translator, a search engine. It consists of two parts: signs and rules.

And therefore important as what kind of language used? A programming language: Prolog (Logic Programming). Here is an EJ.:

1 .-
Mandarin ( , numeral, 1, (number, unit, first))

.

.

.

Mandarin (, numeral, 10, (number, decade, primeral)).

Mandarin 2 .- (A, B, C, D)

Solution:

A =

B = numeral

C = 1

D =

3 .- .- Syllable has 3 parts: start, core (rhyme, and coda).

EJ.: (In the program)

Syllable (A): -

power (B)

rhyme (C)

concatenation (B, C, A)

/ ** The concatenation of a boot and a rhyme is a syllable **
