Peruvian Academy of Language, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Tourism and Psychology at the University of San Martín de Porres, the unit's Graduate School of Arts and Humanities and the Graduate School of National University San Marcos are organizing the IV International Congress of Lexicology and Lexicography in honor of Juan de Arona on 16, 17 and 18 September 2009.


papers which may be made public reading should not exceed 15 minutes. The title and the respective sommelier should be ready by July 17 and the paper ended Aug. 1. The sommelier should have a maximum of 10 lines. Only consider the participation of the people who deliver the papers on the above date and after an evaluation of them. Must attach a brief CV (between 6 to 8 lines). Professors from the universities of San Marcos, Catholic, San Martín de Porres and UNIFE.

Pedro Paz Soldan y Unanue


(Lima, 1839 - id., 1895) Peruvian writer. Also known by the pseudonym Juan de Arona, he used in his journalistic work, was a diplomat and professor of Greek and Latin literature at the University of San Marcos. He translated Virgil and Lucretius, and his poetry, of romantic and bucolic and evocative tone, includes Ruins (1863), Tables and Peruvian episodes (1867) and Sonnets and sparks (1885). He also wrote comedies (The intriguing punished, 1867), essays (Pages diplomatic Peru, 1891) and composed A Dictionary of Peruvians (1883). He was editor of the satirical publications Bolt (1869) and the spark (1891-1893).
