" Computational Linguistics "

Univerdidad
of California, Davis
On 30 July the "Study Circle Linguistic Villarrealino (CELV) place, as every two weeks, "Monday Linguistic" for which was attended by Dr. Almerindo Ojeda, who studied at the University of California-Davis ... he spoke his theme: Computational Linguistics. " Acontinuación, some notes about it:
"Computational linguistics is an interdisciplinary field that lies between linguistics and computer science, whose aim is to develop computer models that reproduce various aspects of human language." (1)
In presentation, he mentioned some key points such as:
-computational linguistics is a methodological tool, which involves the relationship between sets.
-grammar or structure of a language is a finite set or a way to define a relationship.
"The language is an infinite set, following Chomsky's generative grammar.
"Some of the features it has the grammar of computational linguistics are
1 .- To be explicitly computable
2 .- The accuracy is ie, that captures the language accurately.
3 .- The prince is said that part of basic principles.
4 .- explicit power
5 .- The efficiency
also considered to computational linguistics as a branch of generative linguistics, we can formulate hypotheses, assess the complexity or count the number of rules, is not automatically considered a translator, a search engine. It consists of two parts: signs and rules.
And therefore important as what kind of language used? A programming language: Prolog (Logic Programming). Here is an EJ.:
1 .-
Mandarin ( , numeral, 1, (number, unit, first))
.
.
.
Mandarin (, numeral, 10, (number, decade, primeral)).
Mandarin 2 .- (A, B, C, D)
Solution:
A =
B = numeral
C = 1
D =
3 .- .- Syllable has 3 parts: start, core (rhyme, and coda).
EJ.: (In the program)
Syllable (A): -
power (B)
rhyme (C)
concatenation (B, C, A)
/ ** The concatenation of a boot and a rhyme is a syllable **
